Ship Technology

For someone who has spent their whole life working with boats, the idea of building them as well is simply a natural extension.

After the sale of Sævik Supply in 1997, the company found itself at a crossroads. It was offered the chance to buy a shipyard. And once you have a shipyard, you can build ships. While at the same time, a new ship owning company was under construction.

In 2000, Havila acquired Havyard Leirvik. This shipyard, at the mouth of the Sognefjord, was the start of what was to become the ship technology company Havyard Group. Some years later a ship design firm was also acquired. The aim was to have a presence along the entire value chain, get closer to customers and have additional legs to stand on.

In 2014, Hayvard Group was listed on the Oslo Stock Exchange.

Today, Havyard Group ASA is a diversified enterprise, with several business areas: Shipbuilding Technology (the yard where it all started), Design & Solutions, Power & Control and Productions & Services.

Havyard Group has almost 600 permanent employees at several locations along the Norwegian coast, in addition to branch offices outside of Norway.
